Support for ACAP growing
Over 800 sites in 43 countries worldwide have already implemented ACAP (Automated Content Access Protocol) on their sites, 53% of which are in the US, it was announced on Friday, 20 March 2009 (see also Editors Weblog). According to ACAP, this is the "clearest possible sign to the search-engine community and other aggregators that publishers are reasserting their right to decide on the use of their intellectual property, a right that is currently ignored by many players on the Internet". For more on this new communication protocol designed to make copyright work on the web, go to www.the-acap.org.
