First to premiere this month is South African based local show, Game Changers, which starts on Wednesday, 16 May. (19:10 CAT). This aspirational series hones in on some of the most influential artists of today such as Kid Fonque, Moonchild, Thando Hopa and Mpho Makua, charting their journey to stardom. It also provides insights into how they stay at the top of their game. Through behind-the scenes footage and private interviews, viewers will get up close and personal with these game changers.

Next to premiere on the 21 May (19:55 CAT) is Dentaa Africa, hosted by Dentaa Amoateng. This show first aired on Sky in England. With an order of the Member of the British Empire (MBE) bestowed on her by the Queen of England, Dentaa is an award winning, celebrated mompreneur, producer, actress and TV presenter. Filmed in front of a live studio audience, exploring the Ghanaian and African entertainment scene through interviews with celebrities and coverage of entertainment events, this show celebrates all things Ghana.

If talk shows appeal to you, Chick Chat Live on Mondays from 28 May (19:10 CAT) is a must-see. Presented by the Nigerian-born Cornelia O’Dwyer, it focuses on modern-day African women of all ages, who come from different walks of life. Such diversity gives rise to plenty of positivism as the set is transformed into a lively meeting place where opinions and ideals are exchanged. It’s a show where they keep it real. Nothing is too mundane or awkward to explore.

On the international front and on a lighter note, the ninth season of Last Comic Standing starts with double bill episodes on Thursday, 31 May, (19:10 CAT). Hosted by Anthony Jeselnik with Keenen Ivory Wayans and Roseanne Barr joined by Norm Macdonald. And continuing in the month of May are Sisterhood of Hip Hop with Grammy-award winning artist T.I. on Wednesdays (17:55 CAT), the Turkish telenovela, Second Chance, weekdays (18:25 CAT), Hustle & Soul on Tuesdays (19:10 CAT), and Ex Isle on Fridays (19:10 CAT), followed by Famously Single S2 (19:55 CAT).
