Markex back in Cape Town

After a gap of three years, Markex Cape will be back at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), 23-25 August 2011, two months after the Gauteng show at the Sandton Convention Centre, 7-9 June.

These exhibitions for the marketing, promotions and event industries will feature the new 'Trade Only' section launched at last year's Markex, introduced in response to a call by wholesale suppliers. It houses a targeted selection of the country's leading corporate gift manufacturers.

Amit Brill, MD of Amrod, who was instrumental in the creation of the new section, says, "The benefit to exhibitors in this area is that it ensures that visitors are pre-qualified, genuine resellers of promotional goods. I look forward to this area continuing to grow from strength to strength."

"This exclusive area provides the opportunity for more personalised interaction and sourcing by buyers and sellers of promotional goods and we are developing this concept further for this year's shows," adds Lynn Chamier, exhibition director of Markex World of Events.

Offering business networking, eye-to-eye contact and preferential sourcing of products and services, last year's show in Gauteng saw over 10 400 visitors make direct contact with more than 300 suppliers.

Attractions

The attractions that proved to be areas of activity last year will be returning to Markex Gauteng, including the Loerie Awards Travelling Exhibition, which showcases award-winning design and creative talent and the AdVantage Advertising Village, with its wine bar providing a marketing opportunity for creative and design agencies and a place for networking by the marketing industry.

The exhibition carries the endorsement of both the Marketing Association of South Africa (MASA) and Direct Marketing Association of South Africa (DMASA).
