This synergistic partnership will provide FNB with the textbook backdrop against which to demonstrate the application of its offerings in the real world. The DigitalLife Expo, South Africa's premier digital lifestyle showcase, taking place from 2-4 December 2011 at the Coca-Cola dome, brings to life cutting-edge technology, demonstrating its practical application in the home, on the move and at the office.
FNB will use its participation at DigitalLife Expo 2011 to demonstrate its Connect Surf ADSL, 3G Data, Connect Talk and the recently launched FNB Banking App for smartphone and tablet devices.
Says Farren Roper, head of markets and product at FNB Connect: "In this era of mobile computing and social networking, connectivity is the glue that binds. As a result, there will be a plethora of web-centric devices on show at DigitalLife Expo 2011, making our partnership with the expo, both synergistic and logical."
Ranka Jovanovic, editorial director of ITWeb, the organiser of DigitalLife Expo, concurs: "So many of the most cutting-edge technologies require 3G data and broadband connectivity in order to function, that a technology expo without a connectivity partner would make no sense. I'm pleased that FNB's co-sponsorship of DigitalLife Expo 2011 effectively bridges that divide."
Billed as South Africa's premier digital lifestyle showcase, DigitalLife Expo 2011 has unveiled a programme that includes a host of world-firsts, including live events, workshops and the new DigiZones. The latter are innovative experiential zones that allow the visitor to step into the future of our digital world.
Adds Jovanovic: "In each DigiZone visitors will encounter some of the most amazing and surprising new technologies available today. Incidentally, many of these technologies are web-centric and thus provide yet another relevant backdrop for FNB Connect."
Among the DigiZones that best fit this bill, are the Augmented Reality, Digital Enters Life and Geek Goods DigiZones, while others include Mind Control, Retro Gaming and Lifestyle Robots.
Concludes Roper: "I am confident that our partnership with DigitalLife Expo 2011 will yield many tangible benefits. Not least of which is the practical demonstration of how our connectivity products can enhance consumers' digital experience in everything from conversations to online gaming, social networking, entertainment, shopping, banking, business on the move, and more.
