New blog showcases South African science, technology
Founders, Anina Mumm (@aninja_m) and Engela Duvenage (@engelbriewe) state that as science writers, they meet amazing scientists as part of their jobs.
"We can't keep quiet about this any longer, so in true South African style we decided to have a virtual braai where people from all over can get together to talk about science. We want to hear and share stories about the behind-the-scenes work being done by local scientists, the homegrown research projects and the fascinating solutions. Not just the stuff that gets published in journals, but the stuff dreams are made of, which ignites researchers' flames," they explain.
They have already posted a few of their own stories and are encouraging others to send their stories, in any South African language they like, about any juicy science story they might have.
They are managing the blog in their free time because they love science, so no publishing fee is offered. Contributions can be dead serious or quirky; a once-off happening or a regular feature.
