The CfERI is committed to creating an environment where women can excel as entrepreneurs
Honouring the legacy of 1956
This Women's Month, we pay tribute to the courageous women of 1956 who united against the oppressive pass laws in apartheid South Africa. Their resilience and determination serve as a powerful reminder of women's strength and their ability to challenge the status quo. Their bravery inspires us to celebrate the same spirit of resilience and innovation that empowers women today.
Entrepreneurship: A path to empowerment
Entrepreneurship is a potent tool for women to build successful businesses and shape their own destinies. At the Centre for Entrepreneurship, we are committed to creating an environment where women can excel as entrepreneurs. Our programs and initiatives are specifically designed to support and inspire women, whether they are students, lecturers, or community members.
Innovative programmes and support
Our entrepreneurship training programs are tailored to equip women with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the business world. This Women's Month, we spotlight our various initiatives aimed at nurturing female entrepreneurs:
Entrepreneurship training programmes
These programs provide hands-on training, mentorship, and resources to help women turn their business ideas into reality. Our training includes practical workshops, one-on-one coaching, and access to valuable networks. For instance, our Business Bootcamps offer immersive experiences where participants develop business plans and pitch their ideas to industry experts.
Community engagement
Through initiatives such as our Ignition Café and Community Business Clinics, we offer women opportunities to connect with other entrepreneurs, share experiences, and gain insights into successful business practices. These events foster a collaborative environment and facilitate the exchange of ideas, enhancing entrepreneurial growth.
Innovation and creativity
We encourage women to embrace innovation and creativity in their ventures. Our Design Thinking Workshops and Business Development Support are designed to help women identify market opportunities and develop innovative solutions. These workshops cover techniques such as rapid prototyping and user-centered design, essential for creating impactful products and services.
The growth mindset: Embracing opportunities
Adopting a growth mindset is crucial for any entrepreneur. We believe that entrepreneurship is a skill that can be developed and that every woman has the potential to succeed. By fostering a mindset focused on growth, women can overcome challenges, seize opportunities, and achieve their goals. Our Growth Mindset Seminars offer practical strategies for cultivating resilience and adapting to changing market conditions.
