With reference to the advertisement for the above position, I have the qualifications and I am the suitable candidate in terms of knowledge, skills and experience.
I have 17 years working experience comprising the Secretarial/Administration/Legal Secretarial/Personal Assistant/Document Specialist-Technician services which include inter alia diary management (both written and Microsoft Outlook Express); attend on telephonic calls and queries; arranging travel bookings, hotel accommodation, conference venues, agenda-packs, car-hire, preparation and meetings; drafting of various correspondence and despatch of same; dictaphone typing; typing of audio files DSS and Winscribe transcription apps; typing of various Magistrate and High Court applications, notices and pleadings and attend on serving and filing of same; liaising with debtors; liaising with sheriffs of various courts; preparing and despatch of Briefs to Counsel at Advocates Chambers at Cape Bar Council, photocopying; faxing; collating; scanning; emailing; minute-taking; opening new files; updating filing systems; drafting reports and presentations; drafting and despatch of accounts; computerised invoicing, switchboard relief; welcoming clients/visitors; ensuring lunchtime relief roster is followed; reception area is manned; general housekeeping and reporting to management. I obtained the following necessary qualifications:-
1. Senior Certificate Matric/Grade 12 - Nov 1991 [English 1st Language (HG), Afrikaans 2nd Language (HG) Business Economics (HG), Biology (SG), Typing (SG)].
2. Certificate in Basic Office Skills - Dec 1992 (subj. Accounting, Communication, Kommunikasie, Office Admin, Typing).
3. Diploma Personal Assistant - Jun 1993 [subj. Typing Theory (Intermediate), Typing 50wpm, Shorthand, Business Communications, Business Practice, Dictaphone, Legal Office Practice, Public Relations & Advertising, Secretarial Practice, Social & Business Etiquette].
4. Certificate of Competence Word Processing Course (WordPerfect) - Sep 1993.
5. Certificate of Attendance Microsoft Word XP Level 1 - Sep 2003.
6. Certificate Intro to Personal Computing - May 2008 (subj. Computer Fundamentals, Windows, Microsoft Word 2003, Microsoft Excel 2003).
