Andrew "Tank" Lanning makes the move to online

Andrew "Tank" Lanning is the newly appointed news and sports editor at 24.com.

He is responsible for putting together the digital sports offering, and together with co-editors, Bryan Porter and Chris Roper, is responsible for the editorial direction of 24.com.

He started his career in 1995 in Cape Town as a picture researcher and marketing apprentice in the sports and lifestyle publishing industry and was made head of their sports photo agency in 1996, before starting the online division and heading that up in 2001. Andrew became a Naspers employee by default when the company bought Touchline Media in the late nineties, but moved to 24.com to take up his current position.

Andrew is a graduate of UCT with a Social Science majoring in Economics, with a post graduate diploma in Marketing Management. He has also completed a media management course at the University of Stellenbosch, and a publishing on the web course at Stanford University in California.
