Gallagher's newly appointed GM - operations a Victor

Reaping the rewards of more than 20 years of passionate commitment to the conference and events industry in South Africa, Victor Shabane has been promoted to the position of general manager - operations at Gallagher Estate.

Victor joined the industry as a junior chef at the Winkel Haak Mine Boarding House. Sure that he had discovered his calling, he attended his first waiter's course and went on to assume the position of head waitron at a hotel in Mpumalanga (then the Eastern Transvaal). In 1994 Victor was employed as a waiter at Gallagher Estate, and enrolled into the in-house training programme. Just one year later he was promoted to banqueting supervisor - and so began his rapid ascension through the Gallagher ranks.

In 1996 Victor became an assistant banqueting manager and by 2001 he held the position of banqueting manager. In 2002 he was again promoted, becoming the assistant GM - operations and was appointed as the acting GM - operations in 2006. Victor's hard work, dedication and proficiency have culminated in his appointment as general manager - operations earlier this month.
