Qondisa Ngwenya appointed managing director of Octagon

Leading South African sponsorship marketing company, Octagon, has announced the appointment of Qondisa Ngwenya as its managing director.

Ngwenya, who holds a B.Soc. Science degree from the University of Cape Town and an MBA from Leicester Business School, has been with Octagon since 2002 and was previously its joint MD. Prior to that he was development manager for the National Sports Council of South Africa and then chief operations officer and deputy chief executive of the South African Sports Commission.

Ngwenya has consulted to the highest levels of national government on issues of sports policy, established a leading edge framework for sports development in South Africa, concluded major BEE deals in the sports arena, and assumed responsibility for several international sports initiatives.
