Starcom hooks Rachel Thompson
Starcom Africa has snatched up Rachel Thompson as head of strategy director. Rachel brings extensive experience in the international media market, having worked for some of the leading media agencies in the United Kingdom.
Kicking off her career as a public relations assistant in the music industry, Rachel was soon bitten by the media bug. She joined Net#Work in 2001 as an account manager on the Delta Motor Corporation account. Continuing her climb up the corporate ladder, Rachel joined Universal McCann as a strategic media planner, handling the massive Telkom corporate account. Rachel couldn't escape the UK's lure and joined ZenethOptimedia in 2003 as a client planning executive. Here she managed all media planning functions for the Procter and Gamble hair care brands.
As an Integrated Marketing Communications honours graduate from AAA, Rachel will add great value to Starcom.
