The Heart and Stroke Foundation website wins SANGONeT Award

The winners of the South African NGO Website Awards were announced at the gala dinner of SANGONeT's 3rd Annual ICT's for Civil Society Conference on 17 July 2007.

The Heart and Stroke Foundation SA website was one of three winners of this prestigious competition which aims to raise awareness about the benefits of having a web presence amongst South African NGO's, stimulate interest in the application of web solutions and applications, and showcases best practices in website creation and maintenance.

The Southern African NGO Network (SANGONeT) was founded in 1987, and is one of the very few NGO's in Africa involved in the field of information communication technologies (ICT's). The emphasis of the web awards is on identifying NGO websites, which have unique and relevant features in relation to the overall development work of organisations, rather than very specific categories and criteria, or just the technical features of the website.
