Job description
Description of position:We are looking for a detail-oriented, experienced Desktop Publisher to join our design team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in layout, typesetting and readying materials for print. They are a unique type of personality who loves chomping through detail and bringing order to information. We source and market a wide range of appliances and electronic products. The core requirement of this role will be in creating well laid out User Guides from poorly laid out and written user guide materials we receive from suppliers.
About the role:
- Design and layout user guides for a wide variety of electronic products and appliances.
- Help with additional informational design work like rating labels, stickers, catalogues, digital recipe guides etc.
- Potential to help with packaging design, layout and other more creative design requirements depending on ability.
- Work with product managers and current design team on various ad-hoc requirements as needs arise.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a DTP designer with a strong portfolio demonstrating excellent layout and typesetting skills
- Proficiency in Adobe creative suite (especially InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Ability to process through large amounts of information without getting informational fatigue
- Excellent English language, spelling and grammar skills are essential
- Excellent understanding in setting up work for print
- Candidates must provide a CV, Portfolio and references.
- Appropriate DTP diploma/qualification
