Limpopo conservation areas get additional rangers

An eight-week ranger training course presented by the Southern African Wildlife College has graduated 39 new rangers to assist with the fight against wildlife crime in various conservation areas in Limpopo.

The new rangers were trained in the practical and theoretical aspects of anti-poaching operations, such as patrolling, road-blocks, gate controls and arrest procedures.

Five of the new rangers will be posted to Banhine National Park, 29 will be employed by the Limpopo National Park, and the remaining five rangers have been assigned to offer support to the Carnivore Protection Programme within the Limpopo National Park.
