Fedhasa aims to improve young industry professionals through mentorship

The Federated Hospitality Association of Southern Africa (Fedhasa) has launched the Fedhasa Cape Young Professionals Mentorship Initiative in an effort to develop the skills of young people in the sector. The 12-month mentorship programme pairs young industry professionals with a mentor who has a similar career path that the specific mentee aspires to.

Throughout the programme, the pair agree to meet for a minimum of two hours per month to discuss things like improving time management, dealing with the pressures that come with working in the hospitality industry, and the value of networking. At the end of each session, candidates are required to populate a monthly feedback form, which highlights the main points covered during the session and helps mentor's evaluate a candidate's performance and success at the end of the programme.
