First book overview of Marikana

The first book giving an overview of the Marikana tragedy will be launched simultaneously in Johannesburg and Cape Town on Thursday, 6 December 2012. Entitled, 'Marikana: a view from the mountain and a case to case to answer,' by Peter Alexander, Thapelo Lekgowa, Botsang Mmope, Luke Sinwell and Bongani Xeswi has a series of interviews with the event's survivors, many of which were conducted on the side of the 'mountain'. Johannesburg launch is at the Council Chamber, University of Johannesburg Kingsway Campus, where Prof Adam Habib will facilitate discussion. In Cape Town, it will be at the Monday Book Lounge, 71 Roeland Street (cnr Buitenkant Street). Both events start at 5.30pm for 6pm.
