Sunday Times publishes education supplement
In a bid to help counteract the “extremely poor” language skills of SA's children and encourage reading, the Sunday Times will be publishing the second of two series of learning supplements to support the National Department of Education's (DoE) Foundations for Learning campaign this Sunday, 29 March. Both the teaching and learning of literacy and numeracy for children in Grades R to Grades 6 will be addressed through the Foundations for Learning supplements sponsored by the DoE. This project will see seven supplements - one for each grade - being published in the centre of the Sunday Times Magazine. The eight-pagers, targeted at children, teachers and parents, contain information and tips and include at least two posters per supplement, which can be pulled out and put on the walls of bedrooms or classrooms. More than 3.5 million copies will be published between the end of March and mid-August.
