AME shareholders vote against Clegg consortium

The consortium led by musician Johnny Clegg has failed in its bid to gain control of the board of African Media Entertainment. After lengthy deliberation shareholders voted against the appointment of three new directors, which included Clegg, and also against the removal of four AME directors. The difference between the winning and losing factions was only 10 million shares of the about 800 million in issue.
