Generations: Cast underpaid?
According to Generations producer, Friedrich Stark, reports Mail & Guardian, the show's actors' salaries average R55,000 a month. In their press statement, the fired actors' said, "We live in a country that is notorious for artists living and dying in a state of poverty, tragically, never managing to earn what is their due, despite being associated with a number of successful projects." The show's executive producer, Mfundi Vundla, is quoted as responding with "That is not happening inside Generations. Sorry!" See We don't exploit Generations actors, says producer
