AAA student solves design challenge

Third year AAA School of Advertising student, Ntobeko Ximba, was recently chosen as one of three joint winners in this year's Elle Decoration Solve Centre student competition. Briefed to develop a functional and sculptural coffee table, Ximba's entry was inspired by the honeycomb and appropriately named the ‘Nyosi Table' (‘nyosi' is ‘bee' in English). The base of the coffee table is designed to be made from a number of cylindrical hardboard tubes and is complete with recycled glass for the table top. Prototypes were made of the three winners' designs by Weylandts design stores and one design has been chosen to be manufactured for sale in stores next year.
