Beeld's Children's Fund raises nearly R3 million

In the 2005 fiscal year, Beeld's Children's Fund collected a record breaking R2.9 million. Says Beeld GM Lucille van Niekerk, "The whole team is thrilled that the Beeld's Children's Fund raised close to R3 million, over 20% more than the year before!" Audited free of charge by Pricewaterhouse Coopers, the fund's results were announced at a recent stakeholders' meeting in Centurion. Chairman Johan Krige expressed the grateful thanks of the beneficiaries to Beeld readers, and to individuals, churches (which donated almost half of the total, R1.3 million), companies and organisations for their generosity.
