First Smithfield Mufulatsepe Soccer Tournament
On Saturday, 22 November and Sunday, 23 November the first Smithfield Mufulatsepe Soccer Tournament took place in the small town of Smithfield.
Businessman Charlie Petersen and OFM were the proud sponsors of the event in which eight teams competed in. The teams were from surrounding towns and included the Bloemfontein Celtic Masters. Mr. Petersen, who was born in Smithfield, approached OFM to assist him in presenting the tournament. The objective of the tournament was to bring some cheer and spirit to an otherwise very quiet and sometimes even forgotten town.
