Fashion Rocks at Sable Square
A cocktail of rock fans, fashionistas, VIPs and Saturday shoppers were shaken and stirred at Sable Square Fashion Rocks' first birthday celebrations on World AIDS day, December 1, 2007. Headlined by Indie band, The Parlotones, the jam-packed line-up rocked the village square with an all-day music festival with guest appearance by SA supermodel Minki van der Westhuizen and funnyman MC Cokey Facow.
Following a special autograph signing session with the band, the show kicked off with gorgeous Minki leading 12 glam rock babes - including sculpted Men's Health Look of the Year, Marc Pearce - onto the runway wearing nothing but Sable Square's latest threads from high fashion brands such as Addias, Levi's and Tss.
Already warm from the blasting beats of DJ Budada, The Parlotone's supporting acts, 22 year old Dido-esque Alexa and crooner Joe Robbins, continued to rock the airwaves with their performances. And certain not to disappoint, The Parlotones' lively stage performance, belted out their thumping Indie rock tunes that had the audience jumping.
Wrapping up the star-studded line-up the trio of young talent, Change of Plan, who with a collective age of only 42, gave their peers a good run for their money.
