The new digital content portal enables users to customise a portal around personalised digital content, allowing immediate access to information.

Based on Web 2.0 principles, the customisable web and mobile portal offers a range of content. Users are able to arrange their desktop view according to their preference, by dragging and dropping widgets into their web portal, with the same view reflected on supported cellphones.

“My Web offers a converged portal experience between web and mobile, aligning with Vodacom's growth strategy to provide customers with valued-added total communication services through new converged ICT solutions,” says Shameel Joosub, MD Vodacom South Africa.

“Unique identity branding is crucial to both web and cellphone users today who prefer to capture their individuality through the personalisation of content. It gives users the ability to choose the content they want, in the format they want, when they want - and because of the Really Simple Syndication (RSS) functionality of the portal, content is always fresh,” concludes Joosub.

Vodafone My Web is supported and accessible to subscribers on any South African network but MTN and Cell C customers need to register via the Web before accessing the wap portal. The service is free (standard data charges apply), users will only be charged for buying content.
