Stellar Winery becomes member of BWI

This is in addition to the organic and Fair Trade certification that has marked it as one of the world's leading ethical wine producers. The Drinks' Business Green Awards 2013 judging panel recently recognised this business ethos by naming Stellar Winery, Ethical Company of the Year.

This Fair Trade enterprise, consisting of a winery and 13 independent organic grape producers, lies scattered between Bulshoekdam and Koekenkaap in the West Coast municipality. It was the first organic winemaking operation in the world to gain Fair Trade certification and the first cellar in Africa to produce commercially viable no-sulphur-added wines. It has subsequently become the largest producer of these wines in the world and is the number one organic wine brand in the UK.
