Debonairs Pizza opens in Montecasino
The opening of Debonairs Pizza at Montecasino, Johannesburg this week marked the 400th restaurant for the homegrown pizza brand that everyone loves. The brand began its first day of trading in 1991, when it sold eight pizzas from the back of a bakery in Pietermaritzburg. Today it operates restaurants across South Africa, Botswana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, UAE and Zambia.
According to André Piehl, managing executive, the brand has achieved solid growth and business success over the past 21 years. "We're proud to have opened our 400th restaurant and by the end of 2012 we plan to open a further 11 restaurants, which will certainly end the year on a high note for the brand."
