Two South African sparkling rosé wines hits top 10 internationally
The 2012 Effervescents du Monde, the international competition held in Dijon, France in November to find the Best Sparkling Wines in the World including French Champagne, has selected two South African sparkling rosé wines. According to the organisers, some wines were rigorously equal thus the Top 10 2012 includes 19 wines.
"To be amongst this illustrious line-up of the best sparkling wines in the world in the land of Champagne, is a wonderful recognition for our Pongrácz team and we are particularly proud of the recognition for our Rosé," says accomplished winemaker Elunda Basson on the win of Pongrácz Rosé.
This is the second accolade in one month for this wine, after being crowned Best Pink Cap Classique in the 2012 Fairlady Consumer Awards.
The other South African winner was Boschendal Le Grand Pavillon Brut Rosé.
