Roodeberg 2009 wins two German awards
Roodeberg recently won 'Best International Red Wine in LEH (multiple retail)' and came second in the category of 'Best New World Red' on the annual list of 'Top 100 Wines of the Year 2011' released by German wine journal, Weinwirtschaft.
The Roodeberg 2009, took its place from a selection of over 600 wines. The wines are selected on a combination of four criteria - tasting results, price-quality ratio, sales and marketing efforts of the wine producer. The preparation commenced in October 2011 when wine retailers, importers and leading national and international producers were requested to nominate their best-selling wines. The covert tasting of the wines took place on 4 and 16 November 2011 at the Meininger publishing house.
"We are proud and excited about this accolade, as we feel that it is a reflection of the wine consumer's behaviour in Germany, an affirmation that this wine is a South African icon, which continues to gain popularity throughout the world", says De Bruyn Steenkamp, brand director KWV Wines.
The wine is a good accompaniment to grilled, roast or barbecued meat or chicken dishes and retails at approximately R79.99.
