Distell captures New York spirit

The competition, which brings together New York's leading importers, distributors, hotel beverage directors, restaurant and retail store owners to judge submissions by category and according to price point, also awarded silver medals to Oude Meester Reserve 12 Year Old and Van Ryn's 20 Year Old. Its cane spirit, Mainstay, earned a third silver medal.

According to portfolio spokesperson, Carrie Sanders, what makes the winning of the competition so significant is that its judging draws on the industry expertise of key members of the trade who serve as the gatekeepers to New York's influential consumer base.
