It won a Double Gold for its flagship, Desiderius Pongrácz 2008, its second consecutive Double Gold for this wine at a competition that included wines from Argentina, Australia, Chile, New Zealand, South Africa and America judged in 17 classes. At last year's Challenge, the Desiderius Pongrácz 2003 brought home the Double Gold medal.
All three of its products in the range, Desiderius, the Brut and the Rosé are included in the just released Wine Pleasure's 50 Great Sparkling Wines, published in Barcelona, Spain. Both Desiderius Pongrácz 2008 and the non-vintage Pongrácz Rosé broke the 90+ barrier, scoring 93 and 91 points respectively.
Desiderius Pongrácz 2008 is available at all leading boutique wine stores at around R350 per bottle. Pongrácz Rosé is available nationwide, selling at around R120 per bottle.
