Engen Botswana launches campaign for growth and development

Now in its second year, the revered competition runs for a period of four months. Lucky winners stand a chance to win a Massey Ferguson Tractor, a 4 Disc Agromaster Plough and a 2 Row Planter every month for four months.
The campaign, the brainchild of Engen Botswana's marketing team, is being considered as a model to be rolled out in neighbouring markets due to its focus on community relevance. The rationale behind agricultural machinery was a simple one for the company, according to Monga. The business sought to develop a meaningful and value adding platform that would not only benefit the business itself, but which would contribute towards the growth and development of the national economy.
A meaningful contribution towards Batswana's income stream
"What we aim to achieve on community level here is very much in line with the great work our government has been doing to boost subsistence farmers. This is through such platforms as ISPAAD, donating and subsidising small tracts of land, as well as providing tractors to encourage small-scale production of crops, for greater self-sufficiency of families," said Monga. "It is our belief that the prize of a tractor, plough or row planter can make a meaningful contribution towards Botswana's income stream, empowering them towards sustainable financial independence, aiding in employment creation, and contributing towards increased food security to reduce reliance on food products on the import bill."
The competition, open to all Botswana and at Engen sites across the country, offers two ways of entry. Customers are eligible to enter either through spending P200 on fuel or lubes at Engen or spending P60 at Engen QuickShop, and filling out the entry form provided before dropping these in the designated entry box.
