Cosmo for the campus, revamped Edgars Club debuts

Cosmo on Campus debuted in Cape Town earlier this week at the University of Cape Town and the new glossy version of Edgars Club magazine, debuts today, Wednesday 21 September.

Cosmo on Campus is a free, bite-sized version of the magazine, aimed specifically at students and available at some of South Africa's biggest university campuses.

"We know that money can be tight for students, so we've produced a free version that gives a taste of the advice, entertainment and inspiration offered in the magazine every month," says its editor, Cathy Lund. From budget-friendly fashion to rock-star advice on varsity life, it is a guide for students who are stepping out into the real world to become fun, fearless females.

Fashion hits a high

John Brown Media has evolved the Edgars Club publication into a new-look magazine with supplementary and complementary multi-channel content that include snippets from fashion run-ways and showcases local designers, such as Thula Sindi.

Debuting with SA Fashion Week winter 2012, the magazine offers features on the trends, new brands,
events and collaborations that are happening at the retailer.

For men, Edgars Man magazine will now be published three times a year and several targeted supplements published throughout the year will cater to members' other interests - from kids to home décor.

Club is now offered across several new media platforms: interactive content like behind-the-scenes videos will be part of the new edgarsclub.co.za digi-shopping mag while Club's sassy blogger will bring the brand to life in the blogosphere and via Twitter and Facebook.

The magazine is driven by award-winning group editor and fashion blogger, Justine Stafford, who, with the help of her team of seasoned magazine journalists, fashion and beauty experts, will make the brand relevant, exciting and entertaining for the diverse needs of its million-strong members.

New Trends launches in October

"Our new, all-encompassing strategy includes a fresh layout, reorganised structure and richer content offering," explains Stafford, adding "This is best showcased in our October 2011 Trends Issue that is launching on the eve of Fashion Week in Sandton, Johannesburg. It looks and feels like a glossy fashion magazine, but is more targeted because it brings the store to life for its key customers in a way they want to be communicated to."

John Brown Media is also publisher of Pick n Pay Fresh Living, Cell C Magazine and recently, Discovery Magazine, which will also be launching with a revamped look and feel in October.
