Welkom SPCA calls for support

The National Council of SPCAs is appealing for support for their SPCA branch in Welkom, Free State. The SPCA in Welkom is in dire financial straits and is urgently in need of support to continue operating at full capacity and to be sustainable for the foreseeable future.

This SPCA's active operational area covers nine residential and eight impoverished districts. In addition, they respond to emergencies involving animals outside these areas when the need arises. Their services to assist animals are constantly in demand. They only have one reliable vehicle to cover these large areas as their older vehicle is in need of repairs and requires a new engine.

No SPCA receives government funding. Income is generated through the support and generosity of the public to enable them to keep their doors open and continue their essential services for the animals in the area. Each SPCA belongs to the community it serves.

Those interested in supporting Welkom's SPCA can consider taking out a monthly debit order. Any other form of assistance and financial contribution, no matter how small, is welcome.
