Commercials crews: only one month left for Dogstar Awards entries!

The Dogstar awards 2004 recognises crew and production houses that have worked on television and film commercials shot in South Africa and flighted locally and overseas. Entry forms are available from crewing agents, Screen Africa and Gecko Productions in Cape Town, as well as from the Dogstar website www.dogstarawards.co.za.

The Awards ceremony will be held in August in Cape Town and is supported by the Commercials Producers Association (CPA), the Association of Crew Agents of SA (ACASA).

This is the second year of the Awards that give recognition to crews for their hard work during 2003. Organiser Julie Coghlan of Gecko Productions says: "We are strongly encouraging the South African commercials production industry and crew members to enter this year's competition. There are number of categories divided into two main sections - Made In South Africa (made for the international market) and Made For South Africa (made for the local market). Only South African companies and technicians resident in the country are eligible to take part."
