“Any communications business requires creative leadership to partner with business leadership. We have a creative leader in Nic and now we have a business leader in Laurie,” says Ogilvy Cape Town MD, Gavin Levinsohn.

King was one of the founding members of Ogilvy Interactive London and since then has held senior positions in the group's London and Paris offices, including as EMEA regional director for IBM and most recently as global digital director for Nestlé International.

“My experience, ranging from start-up days of the early ‘90s to the latest worldwide campaigns for global customers, means I've been able to see how different countries have developed their digital media in different ways. The digital landscape of South Africa is uniquely vibrant and has serious untapped potential,” says King.

“This is a perfect opportunity to bring the lessons of other global digital markets to one which is ready to leave behind old ways and reinvent itself from scratch in the search for success - which makes it a seriously exciting place to work.”
