Exploring technology at BarCamp Nigeria 2009

BarCamp Nigeria 2009 will be held at Tom Associates Training Centre and Conference Hall in Lagos, Nigeria on 25 April 2009. The one-day event, themed “Web 2.0 opportunities and its role in driving innovation”, aims to gather people interested in technology on various levels and topics to share, learn, network and brainstorm ideas.

BarCamp is described by its organisers as an ‘unconference'. Everyone is both a speaker and a participant and the content is provided by all attendees based on their interests.

BarCamp Nigeria plans to:

Create a central node for ongoing conversations and connections on the most important technological initiatives in Nigeria
Showcase success stories by individuals and organisations in the country and allowing them to share and further their visions
Create a platform where the best technology ideas and products can be supported, sponsored and promoted
Shift the conversation from problems to solutions facing technology adoption, integration and regulation in Nigeria

The event is open to anyone who is interested in technology including but not limited to telecommunications, software/hardware, web 2.0, opensource/enterprise solution etc.
