    MDDA mourns the passing of the Media Literacy project beneficiary

    The Media Development & Diversity Agency (MDDA) has learnt of the passing of the Media Literacy project beneficiary, a young, committed and passionate, Mr Jade Roux.
    MDDA mourns the passing of the Media Literacy project beneficiary

    Jade was born on 25 September 1996 and passed away on 25 May 2013. He was 16 years old and died suddenly due to undiagnosed leukaemia (a form of cancer). He got sick on Friday, 24 May was taken to hospital and passed away the next day between 1-2pm.

    He was part of the Bush Radio's CREW programme, and participated in the Media Kidocracy Konference (MKK) since 2010, when he was only 14 years old. At the MKK2012, where MDDA partnered with Bush Radio, Jade was part of the youth that produced a video creating youth awareness on youth challenges at the conference.

    Bush Radio Station Manager, Ms Brenda Leonard said, "He was a bright kid, with clear leadership skills, and a love for media."

    Jade's funeral was held on Saturday, 1 June 2013 at the Jubilee Community Church in Observatory.
