Industry gears up to explore advanced technology at Mediatech 2005

Media Tech Africa is the biennial trade exhibition showcasing advanced technology for the broadcast, media, entertainment, audio visual and communication industries of Africa and it takes place at the Sandton Convention Centre from 21 - 23 June 2005.

According to the organisers, South Africa RAI, Media Tech Africa 2005: "Media Tech Africa 2005 is organized for the industry, by the industry and we are extremely pleased to report that the exhibition is 90% sold out since sales opened in November last year," says Simon Robinson, Director - South Africa RAI.

Media Tech Africa 2005 will bring the industry together for three days, and will offer a highly interactive platform for buyers and sellers to explore the latest technologies, see new product launches and take advantage of special offers.

Visitors will find an dynamic display of products, technologies and services from industry leaders in film and television; broadcast equipment, audio equipment; animation; broadband; digital broadcasting; instruments; DJ equipment; lighting and staging; sound, audio, satellite and signal distribution and communication equipment.

The exhibition's key features also include interactive creative and technology driven demonstrations, infotainment, networking opportunities, conferences and special events. Screen Africa will present the 4th Screen Africa Talent and Technology Conference which will highlight the latest industry developments and the technologies behind them.

The exhibition and its features make this expo the most anticipated exhibition for creative teams, directors, producers, editors, technicians and communication industry consultants and specialists.

"The previous Media Tech Africa Exhibition held in 2003 attracted some 3500 trade visitors, and we expect an increase in the attendance of South African industry professionals this year," says Robinson. An intensive advertising, marketing, direct mailing and public relations campaign aims to attract in excess of 4000 visitors this year.
