Error in the press statement welcoming the new Projects Director - Mr Harry Letsebe
The statement erroneously reflected Mr Letsebe as having a law degree and postgraduate certificates. Mr Letsebe, according to his CV has several certificates ranging from project management, social policy, ICT for development, strategic management and financial planning. These were received from Regenesys Business School, Wits Graduate School of Public and Development Management and UCT. The error was due to editing his submission based on how he wrote his abridged version of his CV in preparation for the press statement after he was employed.
The Agency would like to reiterate though that Mr Letsebe was appointed on merit, on the basis of his vast relevant experience, skills and expertise. He has been with the MDDA from its inception as a Programme Manager (Community Media) which is responsible for 60% of the grant fund. He was part of the process of setting up the Agency, its systems and procedures. He brings a wealth of experience in grant making, leadership and knowledge of the media industry. He has been involved in media development for more than 10 years.
This error is regrettable and unfortunate, we accordingly profusely apologise for the error.
