Rowlands replaces Andreas Weiss, who has spearheaded the company's growth as CEO in the region for the last two years. Weiss has been promoted within the network and will return to Europe taking on a leading position within the Aegis Media network in Central Europe.

The company, which owns leading global media brands such as Carat, Vizeum, Posterscope and isobar, has seen excellent growth in the sub-Saharan region over the last two years. New accounts such as Johnson & Johnson, Old Mutual, Nokia, MWeb and CellC were won, as well as new operations launched in nine countries of the region (such as Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya).

“Dawn's clear leadership and entrepreneurial skills combined with valuable insights make her the perfect fit for this role. With these skills we feel confident that Rowlands will take the company in this region to new levels,” said Arjan Pomper, CEO for Africa and the Middle East.

“Andreas has done an excellent job in transforming the local group into the fastest growing operation within the MEA region. We now have a strong and profitable footprint in one of the world's most interesting emerging markets,” concluded Arjan Pomper.
