Bosman resigns from TBWA

TBWA\South Africa announced on Wednesday, 2 August 2006, the resignation of group CEO Mike Bosman. According to Reg Lascaris, founding partner of TBWA\South Africa, Bosman joined with the mandate of re-engineering and restructuring the group in order to set it up for future growth and made it clear that he regarded it as a short term assignment.

"Bosman has achieved this mandate and leaves the group in a very strong position both operationally, creatively and financially," says Lascaris.

Bosman is expected to leave TBWA\South Africa by the end of September 2006 and announcements regarding his successor will be made in due course.

TBWA says that Bosman, having delivered on his many objectives, feels that it is time to move on. He will be exploring a number of professional opportunities and will also be spending more time with Cape-based family.

"I have enjoyed the challenge of leading TBWA\South Africa back to its respected position again as one of South Africa's great communication groups. As a team, we can be very proud of what we have achieved." says Bosman.

"I feel privileged to have worked at TBWA over the past two years; the leadership teams at the group and in the operating entities is incredibly strong and well set to take this group forward. TBWA\South Africa has undoubtedly some of the most talented and industrious advertising people to be found anywhere in the world."

The group has achieved a number of accolades over the past two years including TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris once again being the most creative agency in South Africa in 2005 and Magna Carta being the top and largest PR agency in South Africa, as nominated by AdReview 2006. TBWA also won five Lions at Cannes this year (including Gold) and was second only within the TBWA worldwide group to Cannes Agency of the Year, TBWA\Paris, which won eight.

Concludes Lascaris, "Mike has done a great job and John Hunt and I wish him the best of luck and we would like to thank him for the tremendous contribution he has made to the group."
