Senior Data Quality Analyst

One of Africa’s largest diversified financial services groups, offering an integrated set of products and services across retail, business, corporate, investment, and wealth banking is looking for a highly analytical and experienced Senior Data Quality Analyst with deep knowledge of financial markets and regulatory frameworks. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in Investment Banking or Capital Markets, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in managing data quality initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Data quality processes: Design, document, and implement procedures ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
• Metrics and monitoring: Define data quality KPIs and maintain dashboards with alerting mechanisms.
• Workflow integration: Embed data quality checkpoints into existing business/trading processes.
• Governance and compliance: Enforce data lineage, attestation, and regulatory frameworks (FMA, EMIR, Dodd‑Frank, CFTC).
• Regulatory research: Track and interpret evolving regulations across South Africa, Africa, and globally.
• Stakeholder collaboration: Partner with trading desks, risk management, data IT teams, and producers.
• Remediation and resolution: Lead and support initiatives to fix data anomalies.
• Dashboarding and alerts: Build technical dashboards for ongoing data quality oversight.

Qualifications and experience:

• Degree in  Computer science, Data science, Business analytics, or Information management.
• 5+ years in Investment banking/capital markets IT & data roles.
• 5–10 years in business and data analysis within global markets environment.
• Domain knowledge: Proficient across equity, fixed income, credit, fx, commodities, interest rates, collateral.
• Regulatory reporting: Hands‑on experience with FMA, EMIR, Dodd‑Frank, CFTC standards.

• Data governance frameworks: Quality dashboards, lineage models, attestation processes (≥3 years)
• Platforms and tools: Front Arena, AWS/cloud-based data tools (≥2 years)
