Emilie Gambade, currently managing editor of Marie Claire, fashion editor for the Daily Maverick and regular contributor to the Mail & Guardian, has been appointed the editor of Elle South Africa as from 1 July 2014.
Publisher of Elle and director of Isiko Media, Gisèle Wertheim Aymés, says, "Since the company was awarded the license agreement to publish Elle and Elle Decoration in December 2013, Jackie Burger and I have been in discussions over the future of the magazine from an editorial perspective. She has been the longest serving editor and that as soon as we had transitioned the business she would like to be released to pursue other opportunities that are important to her own self and career development."
Burger will remain with Elle until the end of September in a consultation capacity, focusing on some of its special projects.
