Duties : Attend Starter Motor Project and Engineering Meetings
: Project Meetings:
To find out which projects are kicking off. Draw Bill of Materials for new part numbers to establish what parts are already utilized and which are new. For new parts request "Request for Quotation" and liaison with German lead buyers and suppliers for tenders on pricing structures and whether they can supply the demand. Give feedback on tools and if necessary source new suppliers.
: Engineering Meetings:
To give feedback on parts already sourced, Engineering Change requests being honoured, and that need changing over - i.e. Supplier and part changes.
: Buyer Duties:
To liaise with both lead buyers and suppliers on existing projects. Supplier change overs and part number changes.
Receive contracts from Germany. Check existing pricing structure against new prices, depending on commodities (steel, aluminum and copper), whether prices are accepted or rejected.
Create authorization sheets with part numbers and existing/new prices to see whether there are savings or increases, once authorized, loading of schedule agreements in SAP and client notification.
Check Merlin, German SAP system for part numbers and pricing and order accordingly.
Continuous liaison between material and client planners to see what need to be brought in and by what date.
Bring in sample parts for assemblies on Starter Motors. Ensure all parts arrive at the same time world-wide.
Attendance on various other meetings, compilation of reports for management and raising of Engineering Change Requisitions.
Receive suppliers to discuss demands, budgets etc.
Request drawings for new suppliers, change level drawings and issue to relevant suppliers to ensure all are working on correct levels to eliminate faults and problems on castings, pressed and rolled parts.
Do price variance reports.

Maintain and manage stationery.
