Berry Everitt is the CEO of the Chas Everitt International property group, which is one of the top five estate agency companies in South Africa and widely recognised for its innovative marketing methods, its technological leadership - and its absolute dedication to achieving exceptional customer service.
Everitt is the youngest son of the group's founders, Charles and Tilla Everitt, and has been involved in the business since it was established in 1988.
After completing his studies in KwaZulu-Natal, he spent 10 years working as a Chas Everitt agent and manager before acquiring the brand from his father.
He was named as a 'Young Lion' of the South African real estate industry in 2001 and as a 'Mover and Shaker' of the sector just a year later, and it is under his leadership that the company has grown from a family business to a national group.
It was the first real estate organisation in South Africa to introduce a formal, technology-based CRM programme, the first to advertise on satellite TV and the first to operate an in-house mortgage origination company.
In 2015, it also become one of only two companies in South Africa to be affiliated to the global network Leading Real Estate Companies of the World (LeadingRE) and a member of its exclusive Luxury Portfolio International programme.
Well-known for his astute analyses of property market trends and understanding of real estate consumer and investor issues, Everitt has been honoured several times as one of South Africa's leading managers.
But what makes him most proud, he says, is that even in its ongoing quest for growth and development, the Chas Everitt International group remains true to the "old fashioned" values of honesty, integrity, responsibility and caring on which it was founded.
