Coca-Cola SA appoints customer and commercial leadership director

Coca-Cola South Africa (CCSA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mauricio Maza Fernandez as the customer and commercial leadership director, with effect from August 1.

A veteran of the Coca-Cola system, Fernandez joined Coca-Cola de Mexico in 1984 as a business development manager and eight years later he became assistant director for business realignment. His experience within the Coca-Cola de Mexico division includes stints such as value creation systems assistant director, revenue generation management and strategic planning director, and market development director.

Currently the collaborative customer relationship management and customer development director at Coca-Cola de Mexico, a position he has occupied since last year, Fernandez is responsible for creating a best practice collaborative model with strategic partners and key bottlers for modern and traditional trade. This included overseeing key accounts such as WalMart, OXXO, 7-Eleven and McDonalds.

Mr Fernandez holds a chemical engineering degree from the National University of Mexico and a financial diploma from ITAM University in Mexico.
