Miles Goodall wins first awards of 2005 in New York
It looks like 2005 is set to be another winning year for Miles Goodall, Director/Cinematographer at Suburban Films.
Miles has just returned from picking up his first major awards of the year at the coveted New York Festivals TV, Cinema and Radio Advertising Awards.
Having won 2 Golds last year, he has now picked up a further Gold World Medal, a Bronze World Medal and a Finalist Certificate for his exceptional Direction and Cinematography.
Entries to the New York Festival are judged around the world by panels of peers in their respective industries.
To crown it all Miles was also invited out to New York to receive a Special Commendation from the United Nations for his Public Service Announcement 'Village/Old Man' which he shot with TBWA\Paris on behalf of the French Aids Charity, AIDES.
The United Nations Awards for Public Service Advertising were presented on the stage of the Hudson Theatre in front of an audience of top Creative Directors, Producers and Directors from around the world.
This year's panel of UN judges reviewed a wide range of work from agencies and production companies around the world dealing with such UN-related topics as HIV/AIDS, tobacco use, indigenous issues and personal development.
The UN Awards, sponsored jointly by the United Nations Department of Public Information and the New York Festivals, have been given annually since 1990 in recognition of public service advertising that best reflects and exemplifies the values and concerns of the United Nations.
