Lani Carstens promoted to Publisher Shape Magazine
Lani Carstens has been promoted to the position of Publisher for Shape magazine with immediate effect.
Lani has a wealth of experience in the media industry, having initially worked at Lindsay Smithers on the National Magazines account. She then swopped sides to become the Consumer Advertising Manager at National Magazines (now Media24) and a year later, when her division restructured, Lani was appointed as the Marketing Manager for the 4 women's magazines - Fair Lady, Sarie, Woman's Value and True Love.
Recognising her experience and focus on women's magazines, Touchline Media approached Lani to become the Associate Publisher on Shape magazine in January 2001, a mere four months after the magazine was launched in South Africa.
Under her astute and passionate leadership, Shape has continually been driven to new heights and is currently the fastest growing women's magazine in the local market. With circulation now in the mid 50's, and the title having a burgeoning subscriber base of 12 000, Shape has exceeded all industry, as well as internal expectations and is solidly positioned for future growth, expansion and success. Winning the prestigious SAPPI Pica Award in 2002 as the best female magazine in South Africa was just reward for a great team effort.
