SANParks appoints new Regional Communications Manager

Merle Collins holds a National Diploma and B-Tech Degree in Journalism (cum laude) from Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT).A Certificate in Road Transportation Management from the University of Johannesburg.

Her career in Public Relations started in 1995 when she joined the Medical Research Council as a PR/Publications Assistant. Under the tutelage of Professor Malegapuru Makgoba she rose through the ranks and eventually became the Media Manager for the MRC, where she was responsible for Media Training, Press Releases and Stakeholder Management.

A brief stint in 2002/2003 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre as Communications Manager was followed by her appointment as Public Relations Manager for Golden Arrow Bus Services in August 2003 where she was responsible for all Internal Communications including Publications, Events and Corporate Social Investment.
