Rugby commentator dies in car accident
Chris Moller, long-serving SuperSport Afrikaans rugby commentator, passed away following a fatal car accident on Sunday morning, 12 October 2008, in Durban, after having worked on the Sharks-Lions Absa Currie Cup semifinal the day before. Chris, who was 48, joined SuperSport in 1996 and for the past 12 years had contributed regularly on SANZAR, Test and Currie Cup rugby broadcasts. Says Guy Hawthorne, SuperSport publicity editor, “It was with great sadness that SuperSport learnt yesterday of the passing away of Chris... SuperSport will truly miss one of the great voices of rugby and our thoughts are with his wife, Susan, his children and other family members and friends.”
